Hello, Roses!
June feels like it just got here and it’s already gone! It’s been a crazy month. Firstly, we spent half of it in Australia/New Zealand! We had an incredible time at our bookish events. Firstly, we had our biggest event ever at Enamoured Books in Auckland! 70 of our beloved readers came to spend a Sunday morning with us, and it was the most incredible welcome. A few days later, we flew to Sydney, where we spent two incredible days at BABE, a bookish event where everyone dresses to the nines! It was so much fun to meet readers from all over Australia! Then we had such a fun night at Romancing the Novel, Sydney’s only full-romance bookstore. It is such a dream come true to travel to new countries and celebrate with our readers. If you attended one of our events, thank you from the bottom of our heart!
After our events were over, we rented a car with intentions to drive around New Zealand and visit as many Lord of the Rings filming locations as possible! If you followed our Instagram stories, you’ll know that unfortunately we got incredibly sick and a lot of our plans got waylaid. But we had some restful days in an absolutely beautiful town called Te Anau, and still got to hit up many of the spots we wanted to see! The Lord of the Rings is probably the number one inspiration for why we love fantasy so much. It truly changed us when we first read it as kids, and the movies only made us more immersed in the world! Getting to see the landscapes of our favourite fantasy ever is something I will always treasure!

Reading: I thought I was going to get sooo much reading done on the trip, but I was too sick to concentrate for so much of it! So, I’m still reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.
